Another free sample coming soon!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the free sample give away! All of the samples were mailed last week so if yours have not arrived yet they should very soon.

Stay tuned because I have many new soaps curing, including one that looks and smells just like a slice of pumpkin pie- pictures to come soon.

Also, I have finished testing the 'Single Use Sugar Scrub Cubes' (see an earlier blog post for a picture and description) and I am ready to list them on Etsy. That of course means samples for blog followers! I haven't decided on a scent for the free samples yet so if anyone wants to suggest a scent they see in my Etsy store there is a good chance I will use it.

Another new product- Rose Petal Soap

I am taking advantage of a creative spurt by making some new things for my shop. I was going to start a line of fun soap shapes, like popsicle and jelly bean shaped soaps but I got the urge to try my hand at wedding favors.

So I went to my favorite store today and looked around the wedding section. I found a few containers for favors but I wasn't sure what to put in them. Then I turned around and saw something I haven't used for quite a while with soap: silk rose petals!

Several years back I made single use soaps by dipping fake rose petals in clear, scented glycerin soap. When it dries you have a beautiful soap coated rose petal. Simply wash with the rose petal and toss it when you are done. They were great to carry with you or for guest soap in the bathroom. The idea is to use each one once and then toss.

Tonight I made some for the first time in quite a while and I have to admit my technique needs a bit of practice. The soap kept alternately hardening and dripping when it wasn't supposed to. But I had some turn out well. I took some pictures because who wants to hear all of this without pictures?? That would just be cruel.


This small take out container measures 2 1/2" tall, 2" deep, and 2 1/2" wide. It holds 11 Rose Petal Soaps



This container measures 2" across and 7/8" tall. It holds 4 Rose Petal Soaps. (And it was a real pain to take pictures of, lol. It looks much better in real life.)



I plan to play with the packaging a bit before I list these on my Etsy site but I hope you have enjoyed the pics!

Sugar Scrub- It's Done!!

So last night I finished my test sugar scrub and after some tweaking, I LOVE this new product!

It is a single use sugar scrub. They are cubes that come in a jar and you take 4-5 in the shower. Crush one (they are soft and easy to smash) and rub it on wet skin. It exfoliates and while you are rubbing it turns into a lotion type scrub. Very cool. I have never seen anything like this before.

I really like this new product because:

• I hate scrubs that leave me feeling like I have a layer of grease covering my skin and this one rinses clean with no leftover grease
  
• Jars of scrub that you have to dip your hands into get gross after a while
• My skin was soft and smooth with no need for lotion after I was done
  
• I only needed 4 or 5 cubes for my entire body

I am much more pleased after trying the sugar cube scrub than I thought I would be. I thought it was going to be messy and difficult to use but I was pleasantly surprised.

My First Blog!!

I am finally coming out from under my rock and joining the rest of the world. This is my first ever blog. :)
